Naqshi lacquer woodturning was carried across the border at Partition in 1947 and has been kept alive by artisan families in Sillanwali for generations since. This is that story, built as a storefront.
The challenge
Translate a family craft history, passed down for generations, into a digital brand without reducing it to a dry About page.
Build a real store (catalog, cart, COD checkout) underneath the storytelling, not just a landing page.
Sell handmade, one-of-a-kind sheesham woodcraft in a market where buyers default to mass-produced imports.
Our approach
Story as the storefront. A scroll-driven homepage tells the craft in short chapters (the craft, 1947 across the border, today, tomorrow) before a single product appears.
Archival look. Sepia photography, aged caption cards and an interactive scratch-to-reveal moment give the site a museum-plate feel.
A real store underneath. When the story ends the site becomes a shop with four collections (Home Décor, Kitchen & Dining, Gifts & Boxes, Islamic), every piece priced in PKR for cash on delivery.
What we built
Dark editorial identity: deep ink-brown grounds, warm gold and lacquer-red accents, and a serif display face that reads like a title card.
A dated-chapter storytelling system that can keep expanding as more of the brand's history is documented.
Full store: cart, COD checkout with Pakistani phone and city checks, order IDs, policies, FAQ and contact.
SEO foundations from day one: structured data, sitemap, robots and llms.txt.
The result
A heritage craft workshop now has a site that matches the weight of its story, instead of looking like every other handicrafts listing.
A working store (catalog, cart and checkout) right behind the story.
A reusable narrative framework. New chapters, collections, and products can be added without touching the core design system.
