PPTO AI Governance Maturity Assessment

A structured diagnostic tool that evaluates your hospital's AI governance readiness across all four pillars of the PPTO Framework: People, Process, Technology, and Operations.

The Maturity Assessment is a scored evaluation instrument. It walks hospital leaders through a systematic review of their current governance posture, identifies specific gaps, and produces a prioritized action plan.

It answers the question every hospital executive asks before starting an AI governance program: where do we actually stand right now?

The assessment evaluates your organization across four dimensions:

People — Do you have a governance committee? Is it chartered with decision-making authority? Does it include clinical, technical, compliance, legal, equity, and patient perspectives? Are roles and accountability clearly defined?

Process — Do you have a pre-deployment review process for AI systems? Is there ongoing monitoring? Are equity thresholds defined? Is there a process for pausing or decommissioning a system that underperforms?

Technology — Do you know where your AI training data comes from? Can clinicians understand why the system makes specific recommendations? Are there audit logs? Is there a manual fallback if the system goes down?

Operations — Is there executive sponsorship? A dedicated governance budget? Change management for AI deployments? Feedback mechanisms for clinicians and patients? A plan for regulatory monitoring?

Each dimension is scored on a structured rubric. The total score maps to a maturity level:

A numerical governance maturity score across all four PPTO pillars

A gap analysis showing your strongest and weakest pillars

A prioritized action plan with specific recommendations matched to your gaps
