✦ About TEDxBoulder ✦
One of the largest TEDx events in the world, TEDxBoulder has been a cornerstone of the Boulder community since 2010. Each fall, 2,200 attendees gather to hear world-class speakers share their experiences and ideas. The event's impact is profound, with six talks being reedited and featured on TED.com. TEDxBoulder is a highly valued community event, consistently selling out every year.
✦ Overview ✦
TEDxBoulder sought to modernize their online presence while maintaining the familiar aesthetic and structure of their previous WordPress-based site. My role was to lead the comprehensive reconstruction of their website, transitioning it to a dynamic Framer platform. This included character-perfect imports of speaker information and videos, some dating back to 2010. The final product is a live, fully functional site, which was met with positive reactions for its adherence to the original design's look and feel.
✦ Key Achievements ✦
Successfully reconstructed and imported TEDxBoulder's extensive content library, ensuring all videos and speaker information were accurately transferred.
Maintained a similar aesthetic and structure to the old site, which was ultimately met with good reactions from the TEDxBoulder community.
The transition from WordPress, specifically from a Divi-based structure, to Framer was executed with precision, despite the challenges posed by the manual import of content that could not be exported traditionally.
Completed the Framer development with minimal revisions, delivering a live, fully functional site.
✦ Challenges ✦
Cleaned and prepared content from the WordPress export, addressing inconsistencies and ensuring a seamless import into Framer.
Manually imported content from the Divi library, overcoming the limitations of the export process to ensure all legacy videos and speaker details were retained.
