Solution: Genre Genius gives users a chance to learn about a wide variety of musical styles at their leisure. Each genre’s page lets a user listen to examples of that style, read about what differentiates the style from others, and watch a quick video (3-5’) that delves into historical context and gives clues about what to listen to (e.g. ‘In this orchestral piece from 1916, listen for this melody that comes back over and over. That represents the Roman god Jupiter. Then listen for this rhythm. It represents Mars.’). The target audience is 30-50 year-olds who are not music professionals.
