Roe v. Wade Repeal Vigil

Emelie Clements

A community management project through my group, the Reproductive Rights group at Luther Seminary. Within 3 hours of the Roe v. Wade appeal, I put together a vigil in my religious tradition for my seminary.
My goal in this project was to create a collective space to allow for grief and anger to be felt. It seems strange, purposefully allowing people to feel negative emotions, but the end result was allowing people to feel seen and like they belong. To come together, then go out in the day ultimately feeling better.
Spirituality is a very important part of my life and I wanted to showcase a specific project where I can show some of my values, including body autonomy. I learned how to use Zoom on the iOS system, host an emotional community experience, integrate music into community building, and explore ritual in communal practice.
