Objective:The primary objective of the "TYPE" project was to experiment with various styles of the word 'type' using a scanner and a printer. The selected design was then utilized to create a poster and a unique T-shirt in collaboration with the CCCB logo, an art center in Barcelona.
Context:This project was a personal exploration of design possibilities using traditional printing methods. The collaboration with the CCCB logo added a layer of connection to an established art center.
Problem Statement:The challenge was to transform a simple word, 'type,' into a visually intriguing design using a scanner. The goal was not only to experiment with various styles but also to integrate the chosen design into tangible items like a poster and a T-shirt.
Design Process 🎨
1. Scanner Experimentation:The project began with playful experimentation using a scanner to capture variations of the word 'type' on paper. Different angles, movements, and distortions were explored to achieve unique visual effects.
2. Selection of Unique Design:From the scanned variations, a design with a distinctive and visually appealing composition was chosen.
3. Poster Design:The finalized 'type' design was incorporated into a poster layout.
4. T-shirt Creation:The same 'type' design was applied to a T-shirt, further exploring how the visual concept translated onto wearable apparel.
