On the magic island Of Koh Lipe in Thailand, a new holiday resort will open its doors really soon. Its name? Araya. Sounds pretty exotic, right? After a few research, I discovered that this feminine name was coming from Spain but used worldwide. The meaning of this uncommon name is beautiful and strong : in Arabic, it means embellishment ; in Japanese, the translation would vary between "wild valley" or "new valley". In Thai, Araya means "good, noble and righteous" in a particular Sanskrit.

The owners imagine a beautiful place for this resort, where couples would come for relaxed holidays, and lovers for their honeymoon. This resort made from bungalows on the beach would offer cosy and spacious rooms, a private access to the beach, pools, a delightful spa and a restaurant/bar open 24/7. Who would not like to come for a week or two to enjoy this paradise?

The Thai bungalows on the dreamy island Koh Lipe, are surrounded by nature, palms, water and mountains, with a beautiful view on the ocean from the pools. It's the perfect place to relax from work, enjoy a quiet time far from home or plan your honeymoon!

I myself had the chance to go in Thailand for holidays in January-February. That was the most beautiful place! Although I didn't get to Koh Lipe, I got the vibe of the islands around and had a pretty much good idea of the environment and landscape we could find over there. Since we all dream about getting to this island, I realize a colorful and warm moodboard to bring us to the project's mood ! Orange sunset, warm sand, salty skin, green nature, fresh water ! What else, really?

Before going on, I wanted to bring more information about the customers Araya is inviting. Since Araya targets couples and honeymoon lovers, the bungalows and the whole place are more like an adult place: the structure is not mainly made for kids. Also, the place is ranked as a mid-range to luxurious place where people are willing to pay a bit more money to have something more spacious and comfortable. So Araya is primarily targeting a wealthier range of customers.

For the logo,

According to the range of customers we want to attract here, I thought it would be accurate to create a clean and pure logo. To do that, I chose the font Ivy Mode and add some customs on the three letters "A" and "a" to create consistency and create trust. Its irregular widths and minimalist lines bring a more luxurious aspect to the name. The added curved and movements in the letters refer to wealthy codes in branding.

The mark under it is composed by two small "a" from its name, and closed by a circle.

The color palette

I know for this project that I wanted a warm, exotic color palette. I just get inspired by the place itself : The orange for reminding the color of the warm nights and sunset on the ocean. Also the fruits and beautiful corals in the ocean. The green because it makes us think about nature, which the bungalows are surrounded by. And this green-blue we love to jump in!

The menu

The drinks menu is composed by soft drinks (smoothies, fresh fruit juices) - a small selection of beers - Cocktails and Mocktails. We can also imagining a second menu specially for wine.

Getting hungry ?

Araya is offering a range of breakfast and brunch dishes until 4pm, then the restaurant is serving dinner. The restaurant is using fresh and local products only, to give its customers the best Thailand have to offer! Full of fruits, fresh homemade juices, organic bread and so on are available everyday. Also a delicious range of vegan food !

You can grab a drink the whole day and fresh coconut to stay hydrated! The menus are changing due to availability.

Business cards

The business cards from the resort are made beautifully with recycled paper, so it have this paper cardboard aspect. The beige background reminds us the quietness of this place, the simplicity of its design makes us feel home already and the water line makes us want to relax in the pool or to enjoy the spa.
