Kenneth needed his retractable, backlit shelving system shown in the rooms it was designed for: a luxury bathroom, an entrance hall and a living room, with three product variations. The first version was produced by a freelance 3D artist while I stayed on the client side; when the rounds stalled, I stepped into the build and rebuilt the pipeline so every variation came out of one system instead of one more render.

The build

The first round was produced with a freelance 3D artist in Blender, from animatic to full rendered versions. The client kept asking for changes and each round trip was slow, so I stopped and listed every adjustment by discipline: modeling, animation, texturing, render, compositing, pacing. Then I proposed Kenneth a staged plan: approve one phase, then we move to the next. A modeler prepared clean, hierarchized, baked files, and from there I rebuilt the animation in Houdini.

The system

One animation and one camera, with switches per variation: floral, stone and dragon. Changing the product or the room is a switch, not a rebuild. Final frames went to Drop & Render, my first farm render, which is what made three interiors times three variations fit the budget.
The animatic that locked timing and camera before any render

Where it ran

Delivered as one master in three formats, 16:9, 9:16 and 1:1, plus the animatic, for the client's product marketing.

First production round: a freelance 3D artist, Blender. Model prep: a freelance modeler. Client phases, Houdini animation, variation system and render: me. Rendered on Drop & Render.
