We're Going Fishing – Picture Book Illustration

We're Going Fishing by Amber Wojcik, OTD, is a warm autumn story about a father and daughter's day of fishing together. The brief asked US Illustrations, a children's book illustration studio, to paint every spread, design both characters and create the full-wrap cover.

We designed the father and daughter as warm, expressive characters and kept them consistent throughout. Each spread is painted in golden autumn tones, from sunlit riverbanks to an underwater scene beneath the surface.

We began with character studies and spread sketches, then developed color and painted every page. The full-wrap cover was designed to carry the same mood as the interior, and we refined details through revisions with the author.

The result is a cohesive, heartwarming picture book and cover about family time outdoors. See more of our children's book work at https://usillustrations.com
