My intention was to build a simple MacBook app last year to track how much time I spend working on my portfolio (this idea has been collecting dust for more than 7 years), but I ended up building a workforce management software.
Hear me out first, I know there are many apps out there that do similar things, and Mac even have their own "timer". But it wasn't sufficient for me, as every time I shutdown my computer, everything just starts afresh.
Plus I couldn't actually track what I wanted like, what time of the day I’m most productive, sharing my current task with a friend who'll monitor my focus even if they don't have account on the app.
There were many things I wanted to solve, that was why I build this app.
I designed all the screen, modals, and critical components for loading & success states, onboarding, etc
This app currently connects to most calendars, lightweight, intelligent enough to take only-tasks screenshot at different intervals and blur sensitive area.
I believe that this app can used by anyone who wants to measure productivity, not just working hours.
I build this out in many ways:
Claude Code, Figma MCP to Claude models in AntiGravity IDE.
I wrote most of the CSS myself, as I encountered migration ~flops from Figma to Claude.
What do you think about this?
Should I continue to develop this?
I dab.
