SenseAI Conversational Redesign Project

Andrei Gurgel

SenseAI is an AI platform that orchestrates agents, cameras, sensors and drones in autonomous monitoring missions. I redesigned it around a conversational, AI-first experience, so operators can ask questions in plain language and get answers they can act on, and I built its full design system.
Role: Senior Product Designer (UX, UI and product)
Timeline: 2025 to 2026
Scope: conversational redesign, mission flows, account and security, design system
Tools: Figma and Claude

The challenge

The platform coordinates many moving parts at once: AI agents, fixed cameras, sensors and drones. Operators had powerful tools, but they had to think like the system, digging through filters, device lists and settings to find what happened. The goal was to flip that:

Operators should be able to just ask, and get an answer they can trust.

That meant rebuilding the experience around conversation, while keeping every answer traceable to the footage and data behind it.

What I designed

Conversational AI search

Operators ask in plain language, for example "Show me every vehicle with sheriff markings in the last two weeks". SenseAI replies with a short summary and a time-based answer grouped by day. Each result shows the clip, what was matched in it and where it happened, so every claim can be checked against the media.
Conversational search: a plain-language question answered with a summary and a timeline of matched clips.

Sense & Act: missions built like a sentence

Missions are set up the way people describe them: where to look, what to look for, and what to do when it happens. Spaces group the sensors, AI agents and zones of each site, and missions run on top of them.
Sense & Act: Spaces with their sensors, AI agents and zones, and the missions running on them.

Missions as readable stories

Every mission run becomes a story anyone can follow: a recap in plain language, the timeline of events, the photos and video captured along the way, the route on the map and the equipment involved.

Account and security

A user profile with SMS alerts, two-factor authentication, passkeys, connected Google and Microsoft accounts, and verified company domains that onboard new members automatically.

Design system

I built the platform's full design system in Figma and documented it for developers: panels, filters, notifications, mission cards and color tokens, so the team could ship new screens consistently and faster.

How I worked

I worked closely with the founders and engineers in a participatory process. AI was part of my workflow: I used Claude to explore more flow alternatives, faster, and to speed up documentation, while my judgment refined every decision. Concepts were validated early through rapid prototyping, test scenarios and design reviews.
This is an ongoing product, so some details stay private. I'm happy to walk through more of the work in an interview.
