ERA is a fully immersive futures experience where together, artists and designers, explore possible futures through experimentation, food and space.
As a fledgling event, ERA aimed to make a bold statement that would captivate sponsors, artists, and potential attendees. They sought a brand that exuded elegance, futurism, simplicity, and intrigue, while also remaining highly adaptable. A brand that would enable them to maintain an aura of mystery while effectively conveying essential information about the event, their vision, and what attendees could anticipate.
With the theme centered on food, space, and the future, imagery played a pivotal role in shaping the brand's visual identity. The entire essence of this identity was built upon cultivating an air of mystery, anticipation, excitement, and a compelling desire to uncover more. It was designed to draw people in, kindling their curiosity to the point where they felt compelled to immerse themselves in the experience. Consequently, every facet of the design, from image selection and color palette to font choices and storytelling, was meticulously crafted with this core principle in mind.
The color selection, featuring a charcoal and ivory foundation complemented by a neon lime green, seamlessly delivered the futuristic and otherworldly ambiance we sought for the brand. When combined with an elegant serif logo, rather than conflicting, they harmoniously blended the best of both worlds – marrying futurism with elegance within a single, cohesive package. To complete this visual system, we employed a fusion of macro food photography, skillfully edited in black and white, featuring enigmatic angles and compositions that blurred the boundaries between edibles and spatial matter. Additionally, we incorporated abstract and conceptual 3D images, expertly crafted by Renato Tarma, to infuse the imagery with a futuristic dimension, adding a creative and visionary touch to the brand's direction.
