Overview
Yes Miss is a nonprofit that provides college and career exposure to high school girls from underserved communities in New Jersey. The organization was seeking to grow its corporate partners and we partnered to execute a business development project to help them land a new corporate partnership.
Outcome
Through a 4-week business development project, Yes Miss was able to close a corporate partnership with ADP—helping them expand their program's impact!
Client Testimonial
I can't say enough positive words about Michelle, her professionalism, her listening skills, and her execution! She transformed our original partnership proposal into a work of art that landed our first partnership with a great corporation!
The Project
After two discovery meetings to understand the organization and its business objective, we worked closely together to define an ideal partner profile, which is a semi-fictional representation of their ideal partner organization that would have all the characteristics they needed to support their program.
Afterward, cold prospecting was leveraged to identify corporations that would fit their ideal partner profile within New Jersey. We decided to prioritize ADP because their CSR goals greatly aligned with the nonprofit's mission, and the founder had a warm connection in the company.
Once we had our target, I leveraged LinkedIn and the company's CSR site to do research on the prospect and the main decision maker. I leveraged insights found from this research to develop the "better together" value proposition for the pitch.
Armed with insights, I helped Yes Miss revamp their partnership pitch presentation and coached the founder on how to deliver her sales pitch.
