Goal

Almost turns dead time in an airport into a chance to meet someone. Travelers set their airport and the window they are free, and the app matches them with others whose time and location overlap, for dating, friendship, or business. Airports are full of interesting people going nowhere for two hours, and no way to connect with any of them. Almost closes that gap. The brief was a full cross-platform product with a premium feel, real safety controls, and a mutual-consent model at its core, so a connection only opens when both people want it.

Strategy

Platform Choice: Built with FlutterFlow for iOS and Android on one codebase, so both stores could launch together.
UX and UI Design: Aumadi designed the product end to end, aiming for a premium aviation aesthetic that feels calm and considered rather than like another dating grid.
Overlap Matching: Matches are built on time, location, and intent together, so people only see others who are actually around during the same window.
Consent by Design: A chat request only opens on mutual acceptance, which makes consent the mechanic, not an afterthought.
Safety Built In: Safety tools were part of the core build, because a product that puts strangers together has to earn trust first.
Monetization: A premium tier through the app stores, handled cleanly across both platforms.

Process

Discovery & Planning

We scoped a product where the matching logic and the safety model were the hard parts, not a side feature. Planning centered on how time, location, and intent would combine into a match, and how consent and safety would run through every interaction.

Design & Prototyping

Design carried a lot of the product here. The look had to feel premium and travel-native, and the flow from setting a travel window to requesting a chat had to feel effortless. We designed the full interface and prototyped the core journey before building.

Feature Implementation

We built the travel window setup, the overlap matching engine across time, location, and intent, the mutual-consent chat request flow, and the safety controls. Supabase handled data and auth, and the premium tier was wired through the app stores. A web admin console was built alongside for oversight and moderation.

Testing & Deployment

We tested the flows that carry the product: setting a travel window, matching correctly on overlap, and the consent-gated chat opening only when it should. Once stable, Almost shipped to the App Store and Google Play together.

Outcome

Live on both the App Store and Google Play with the full feature set shipped.
Great feedback from the client on the design and the build.
A matching and consent model that puts safety and mutual intent first.
Full-stack delivery: UX and UI design, both mobile apps, and the admin console.
