Golden Moon Connections

I had the privilege of working with Ayesha to create the logo and business cards for her business, Golden Moon Connections. This project challenged me to forge ahead into new territory and step outside my comfort zone as a designer, resulting in a bespoke logo that perfectly represents Ayesha's vision as an animal communicator.

Key Elements

Her main request was to implement the symbol of the Triple Goddess (a full moon flanked by a crescent moon on both sides. In my research, I found so many of the symbol's renditions to be extremely similar — to break away from that monotony, I spaced out the moons.
I connected the crescents with a golden gradient to create the form of an eye, an integral part of Ayesha's process when connecting with animals. Seeing an animal's eyes clearly is the first step to establishing that connection. This was a serendipitous design choice that excited her — in her mind she envisions a golden thread that reaches out in the second phase of connecting with the animals. This then further inspired the element of the intertwining strands surrounding the golden moon.

Business Card Design

The logo design was inspired in part by how it would take shape on the business card. The logo being long and narrow, surrounded by text fills the front of the card, pulling inspiration from tarot card designs.
After trying out different details around the main logo, I opted to get rid of them for a clean and concise presentation. At this scale, it would be easy to clutter the space.
The back of the card employs the icon-only version of the logo, and all of the text is left-aligned in an organized arrangement. Another element I designed was a set of constellations in the shape of animals — they fill up the righthand side of the info side to add detail without distracting from the key information.

The Constellations

The addition of the constellations helps to inform the focus on communication with animals. They tie into the theme of the night sky along with the moons and the connections drawn between stars to create shapes. These can be used in various places to expand the visual reach of the brand.

Some Early Brainstorming

I decided to throw in some early concepts I came up with to feel out the direction Ayesha wanted to head towards. We initially discussed having animals as a more integral aspect of the main logo — I thought of a crest that could house the animals within, and also a zodiac calendar inspired direction where the animals would surround the main triple moon design in a circular fashion.
We ultimately decided to separate the animals from the main logo design to keep it from becoming overly complex, thus came about the constellations as a secondary element.
