Reunited!

I had the cool opportunity of working with Lillooet Brewing Co. in 2020 before they opened to develop their initial beer can labels. They had already worked with an artist, Scott Partridge, to design the art for the animals their beer would be associated with. I then worked around the art to extend the visual identity to the full label series. (in this case, I worked with his White Bark Pine art).
4 years later, we got back in touch and I ended up designing the label for their limited run of White Bark Pine Golden Ale!

Creating a New Standard Format

After files changing hands and formats a few times along with shifting from short cans to tall cans, there were more than a handful of changes that had happened to the labels since I first designed them. The team at LBC was more than happy to work with me again to help design the White Bark Pine label that doubled as a template to unify their lineup as new labels needed to be ordered.

Making the Label

I built the label in Illustrator, matching the main layout of the existing can designs whilst making some key edits from notes provided by LBC along with my own refinements.
After the label design was locked in, I imported it into Acrobat to then expand and flatten the design. This is a necessary step to make sure all the text is transformed into outlines and the layers are simplified for the printing process.
I then got the labels sent off to print and the rest is history!
Getting to see the label in person and taste the beer was pretty sweet 🤩 (my photos!)
