As a recruiter, my primary function was to source, attract and select qualified candidates for job openings within an organization. The recruitment process involves several stages that are critical to finding the best fit for the job, and as a recruiter, I am responsible for managing the process from beginning to end.
The role involves:
- Posting Job Advertisements: Create and edit job postings and distribute them on various job boards and social media platforms to attract potential candidates.
- Screening Resumes: Review resumes and cover letters submitted by candidates to determine if they meet the requirements for the job.
- Conducting Interviews: Conduct phone or video interviews with qualified candidates to assess their skills, experience, and fit for the job.
- Background Checks: Verify the candidate's education, and work history, and conduct criminal background checks if necessary.
- Reference Checks: Contact references provided by the candidate to verify their work experience, skills, and abilities.
- Follow-Up: I have to maintain communication with candidates throughout the recruitment process to ensure they are informed and engaged, and you provide feedback to unsuccessful candidates.
