Wishlist was another product, similar to Snug, that I created to fulfil a personal need. After being asked for gift ideas by family and friends for celebrations such as birthdays and Christmases, I wanted to create somewhere that I could save items online that I'd be happy to receive as gifts. The idea of Wishlist is to act as personally-curated collection for hard-to-buy-for giftees.

Wishlist also boasts the functionality of allowing users to buy a gift for the user of their choice and have this item hidden, so nobody else can buy it. Giftees can set their wishlists so they don't see bought items until a certain date, meaning surprises can be kept.

I knew that I wanted the target market for Wishlist to be the Pinterest demographic. I wove this target market into the entire interface and it inspired everything from the typography choice in the logo, to the colour scheme and rounding of the buttons.

The intent was to build Wishlist as a website that users actually wanted to spend time on, this meant it had to function and look like a space people wanted to occupy. I added customisation, such as profile pictures, headers and bios to add a social element, as if users were creating another "space" on the internet, just for them.
