Development of Tabata.page: A Minimalist HIIT Timer

tabata.page is a fast, web-based timer that's pure plug-and-play, no installation needed on your desktop, tablet, or phone. Fully customizable rounds and clear audio cues mean you can tailor your workout in seconds and focus on your form, not your screen.

Why did I build this?

As someone who uses timers for my own workouts, I got tired of apps that were cluttered with ads, required sign-ups, or were just clunky to use. I believe your workout is a sanctuary from the digital noise of everyday life, and your tools shouldn't add to that chaos.
So, I built tabata.page with a simple mission: to create a timer that gets out of your way and lets you focus purely on your effort.

What's new and unique compared to alternatives?

The biggest difference is the absolute focus on immediacy and respect for the user.
Zero Friction: There are no ads, no trackers, no sign-ups, and no installation. You go to the URL, and it just works—instantly, on any device (phone, tablet, or desktop).
Design as a Feature: The minimal, high-contrast design isn't just a skin; it's the core feature. It's built to be glanceable and usable even when you're exhausted and can't focus on tiny buttons.
Truly Plug-and-Play: It's a fast, web-based tool you can tailor in seconds. Customize your rounds and times, and let the clear audio cues guide you while you focus on your form, not your screen.
