The large paper bag features one of the key illustrations: a carp. The fish are positioned in a way that mimics their natural movement. The logo appears paired, again, with the boilie-inspired background — this time in a fresh brand color variation. A standout element in this design is the addition of blue stripes, adding a playful flair and a subtle maritime feel.

More often than not, a trip to a bait & tackle shop doesn’t require more than a small bag for the purchased items. This pouch is intentionally designed to hold all the small, sharp and fragile items — safely sealed with a sticker on top. The sticker can be swapped with any of the previously designed ones (see above). The logo on this bag also features a stylized “I”, this time as a fishing float — an iconic symbol of traditional angling.

Project Scope
The goal of the RIBABA (riba = "fish"; ba = Bosnia) project was to create a cohesive set of brand visuals and packaging materials for a bait & tackle shop with a modern yet authentic twist. The deliverables included custom stickers, branded paper bags in multiple sizes and logo variations — all designed to reflect the essence of recreational fishing while providing a fresh, functional packaging solution for various product types.
Concept & Approach
RIBABA’s visual identity was developed with a playful, story-driven approach that combines fishing culture with clever design elements. At the core of the concept is the idea of turning everyday fishing gear into graphic motifs — transforming the letter “I” in the logo into different fishing tools (a hook or a float) depending on context. The strategy also included creating illustration-based elements that resonate with fishing enthusiasts, blending visual familiarity with a hint of fun and originality.
Product and Packaging Details
Two main packaging formats were designed: a large kraft paper bag and a smaller sealable pouch. The large bag showcases a carp illustration — strategically placed to simulate the natural swimming motion of the fish — and features the logo with a boilie-inspired background in a new colorway. The smaller bag is tailored for delicate items and sealed with a sticker, which can be interchanged with any of the custom sticker designs. These stickers include playful versions of the logo, with the “I” shaped as a hook or float, and are designed to stick well even to rough kraft paper surfaces.
Visual Direction
The visual direction for RIBABA balances boldness with organic appeal. Earthy kraft tones are combined with accents like deep blue stripes to add a aquatic / maritime vibe. Hand-drawn illustrations and stylized icons bring warmth and character, while circular elements, reminiscent of fishing boilies, introduce structure and brand consistency. Overall, the look is designed to be approachable, functional and distinctly recognizable in the fishing gear retail space.
