EDUopinions University Matching Platform Development

Jordi Roberd-Ribes, co-founder of EDUopinions, was looking for a reliable technical partner to help them implement their business ideas online. He shortlisted our company on UpWork, conducted an interview, and discovered our approach, tools, and methods for startup development. After interviewing other shortlisted candidates, he eventually offered our company a contract. The project brief included the business model and data, which were mostly created in Google Sheets. They needed someone to transform their prototype into a functioning web application and deploy it online. We delved into the provided data, making sure we understood it well enough to create an MVP. We proposed a technical stack, agreed on Agile development using Scrum methodology, and assigned a project manager, designer, developer, and quality assurance engineer. Development began in February 2020, and the MVP was delivered in August 2021 after 12 sprints. Since then, the project has continued to evolve. EDUopinions has become a full-fledged company with continuous support from Webcap Digitals. To summarize, the project is a complex system consisting of a website and web applications designed to help applicants find their perfect match university. The platform offers a seamless user experience where applicants submit their information (e.g., budget, location, education preferences, etc.) to complex matching algorithms, which generate relevant proposals from universities. Universities, in turn, receive a curated list of potential candidates aligned with their requirements. After achieving all major development goals, EDUopinions no longer needed full-time support from WebCap Digitals, so we switched to a service retainer model. This allowed both parties to continue collaborating on a regular basis, providing transparency regarding budgeting and planning resources. Recently, EDUopions decided to pursue a new direction and began helping universities promote their online visibility. We are proud to have been an integral part of their journey and wish them every success in their future endeavors.
