Built with Framer

Website for Road Safety Hackathon 24

Client: Creative Tuesdays in collaboration with CSDD (Road Traffic Safety Directorate of Latvia)
Goal: Build a lightweight, one-page site to drive registrations and clearly present all event information
Designed and developed a Framer site for a national road safety hackathon organized by Creative Tuesdays, in partnership with CSDD. The main goal was to collect registrations, either from teams or solo participants, and provide a central hub for all event information.
While the core team at Creative Tuesdays is professional, the event also relied on support from volunteers. One of those volunteer roles was web support, so the site needed to be easily manageable by people with no technical background.

Key challenges

Volunteers unfamiliar with CMS or Framer needed to help manage the content.
The site had to structure and present a large amount of information clearly.
Certain sections, like the registration form and countdown, needed to switch manually based on event milestones.

My solution

Framer with a custom CMS setup
Built a one-page site in Framer with a sticky nav and clearly structured sections. Most content was powered by a single CMS entry, making updates intuitive and safe, even for non-technical users. Components with editable variables made things like logos, dates, and mentor details easy to update.
Manual toggles for registration status
The registration form and countdown had clear logic. When the deadline passed, volunteers could flip a single CMS toggle and publish. This swapped the form with a “registration closed” banner and updated the header automatically.
Accident card storytelling
To tie the event visually to its real-world purpose, I designed a set of accident cards inspired by crash-scene Polaroids. Each had a handwritten-style annotation, just like investigators might use. The cards linked to real news articles, adding urgency and realism to the site.
Airtable + MailerLite automation
The registration form was synced with Airtable to capture detailed applicant data. Those who opted in for updates were automatically added to a MailerLite subscribers. Additionally, MailerLite campaign delivered three emails leading up to the event:
6 days before: Event intro, inspiration, and social sharing prompts
3 days before: Practical prep and reminders
1 day before: On-site logistics like food, location, sleeping, etc
This kept participants informed without extra manual work from the organizers.
Design approach
Bright yellow color softened with texture and gradients for balance
Coherent visual language carried through every element
Clean, modular structure with smooth animations and responsive layout
Lightweight build optimized for all devices

Results

The Creative Tuesdays team said the whole process went smoothly
Volunteers handled content updates confidently and on time
Participants appreciated the strong visual coherence and clarity
The site is ready to be reused next year with just content updates
