Comtel Website - a South African ISP

About the client

Comtel sells uncapped fiber internet to homes and businesses across South Africa, on many fiber networks, including Openserve, Vumatel, Frogfoot and Octotel. The company is Comtel Communication (Pty) Ltd, based in Cape Town, and a member of ISPA, the internet providers’ association.

The challenge

A crowded, technical market, two kinds of buyer, and one question every visitor asks first: does fiber reach my street?
Coverage comes first. Nobody can buy until they know fiber reaches their address.
Two buyers. People at home and business decision-makers need different plans.
Hard-to-compare plans. Plans differ by network and speed, which makes them hard to compare.
An old site. Their previous website did not match the quality of their service.

What we did

Put the address check first

We designed the site in Figma around one action: check your coverage.
The address check sits on the first screen and connects to an outside service that looks up the address.

Split home and business with one switch

A Home / Business switch splits the two audiences on one page.
Visitors pick their side once, with no extra pages to get lost in.

Let the team update plans itself

Plan cards are grouped by fiber network on the Webflow CMS.
The team changes plans and prices without touching code. Today the home page lists plans on eight networks, from Openserve to Thinkspeed.
On phones, we gave the plan cards extra care, because that is where they hold the most detail.

Answer the usual worries in short cards

Cards that open on tap answer the common questions: router replacement, no contracts and install time.
Customer reviews sit high on the page, under “Real Stories. Real Connection.”, to make an internet provider feel human.

Scope

Included:
Website design in Figma and build in Webflow.
The coverage check on the first screen, connected to an outside address lookup.
Plan cards on the Webflow CMS, grouped by network.
The Home / Business switch, the question cards and the reviews section.
Not included:
The coverage lookup itself. It runs on an outside service; we connected the check to it.
Plans and prices. Comtel sets these in the CMS.
Edits after launch. Comtel now runs and publishes the site themselves.

Results

Designed and built from 24 October 2025 to 16 March 2026, and live on Webflow.
The team updates plans and prices in the CMS, without a developer.
Comtel keeps publishing the site themselves. The latest update we saw was in October 2026.

What we’d improve next

Network and suburb pages. Give each fiber network and main area its own landing page, so people who search for fiber in their suburb find a matching Comtel page.
A help centre. Turn the router guides, which are single images today, into short text pages people can search and read on a phone.
News and business stories. Post announcements on the site and add a few business case studies, so business buyers see proof from firms like theirs.

Working on something similar?

I design websites in Figma and build them in Framer or Webflow, so your team can edit every page without a developer. Message me here on Contra with your site or Figma file, and I’ll reply with a plan and a fixed price.

We designed and built Comtel’s Webflow site around one action: check fiber coverage at your address, then pick a home or business plan.
