Fronterra: website design and Framer build for an AI learning app for kids
Fronterra is a 3D learning app with AI, for kids aged 7 to 14, made by Axon Park. We designed and built its website in Framer in 6 days, with one path for families and one for schools from the first screen.
Client: Fronterra, by Axon Park · Industry: AI learning, EdTech · What we did: Website design and build · Platform: Framer · Timeline: 22 to 27 Jan 2026 (6 days) · Live: playfronterra.com
About the client
Fronterra is a 3D learning app with AI, for kids aged 7 to 14. Families download it free, and schools book a demo. It is made by Axon Park, a learning company founded in January 2019 by Alistair Hume and Taylor Freeman, which also makes Nexera for workforce learning and Curiosity Engine.
The challenge
One product had to win over two very different buyers, on a flat page, for a 3D app.
Two buyers. Parents and school administrators want different things from the same app.
Two next steps. Families download the app for free. Schools book a demo.
A 3D product. A 3D learning world is hard to show on a flat web page.
Safety first. Parents and schools check safety before anything else in a kids’ app, so it had to be easy to find.
What we did
Show the app on the first screen
The first screen plays a video of the 3D world, so visitors see the product before they read about it.
One button under the headline starts the journey: “Begin Your Adventure”.
Let each buyer choose a path
Right under the first screen, “Choose your path” splits the site in two: Families and Schools.
Each card plays a short video when you hover.
Each card leads to its own action: “Download Free App” or “Book a Demo”. The same two buttons close every main page.
Build pages for each buyer
We built separate pages for Families, Schools and Subjects, plus Download, Contact and a full legal section.
Families, Schools and Subjects run on the CMS, so the team adds content without a developer.
The Schools page speaks to teachers (“Teacher tools that simplify.”). The Families page speaks to parents (“Your child plays. You stay informed.”).
Put safety where parents look for it
Their safety promises sit in plain view: COPPA and GDPR-K compliance, no ads and no third-party tracking, by their own account.
The legal pages, from the code of conduct to the app privacy policy, are one click from every page.
A four-step “Getting started” section and a comparison table walk parents through sign-up. They sat on the home page at launch. Today they live on the Families page.
Scope
Included:
Website design and Framer build, from first layout to launch, in 6 days.
Pages for Home, Families, Schools, Subjects, Download, Contact and the legal section.
CMS set-up for Families, Schools and Subjects.
The video first screen and the hover videos on the path cards.
Not included:
The app and its 3D world. Fronterra is Axon Park’s own product.
Edits after launch. Their team runs the site and has since made the home page shorter.
The Axon Park company site. That was a separate project: we designed and built it, and it stayed on staging.
Results
Designed and built in 6 days, from 22 to 27 January 2026.
Still live on our build. Their team edits it themselves, and last published it in October 2026.
Families and schools each get their own path and their own next step, straight after the first screen.
What we’d improve next
Grow search traffic per subject. Give each subject page its own search focus, title and description, so parents searching for a subject land on Fronterra.
Start a Fronterra content hub. Their articles for schools and parents live on the Axon Park site today. A hub on Fronterra would bring those readers to the app’s own site.
Build a schools path with proof. Add pilot stories, teacher quotes and a short demo form, so school buyers see results before they book.
Working on something similar?
I design websites in Figma and build them in Framer or Webflow, so your team can edit every page without a developer. Message me here on Contra with your site or Figma file, and I’ll reply with a plan and a fixed price.
