Kiyo Home — Building a Japanese-Inspired Homeware Brand
Kiyo Home was created as a concept rooted in one clear idea: modern homes are crowded, and design should help people slow down, not add more noise. The goal was to build a homeware brand that feels calm and practical, inspired by Japanese design philosophy but made accessible for everyday living.
We developed Kiyo Home from the ground up, starting with brand strategy and visual direction. The name itself comes from the Japanese word 清 (Kiyo), meaning pure or clean, which guided every decision that followed, from typography and color to packaging and spatial applications.
The identity was designed to feel human. We focused on simplicity, balance, and restraint rather than decoration. The color system explored warm natural tones and soft neutrals, designed to work across furniture, packaging, and digital touchpoints without feeling cold or overly minimal. Typography was chosen to stay readable, modern, and timeless, supporting the brand rather than overpowering it.
Beyond identity, we extended the system into real-world applications. Packaging was designed with recycled materials and minimal layouts, instruction manuals were kept clear and functional, and product tags followed a strict grid to maintain consistency. Every touchpoint was treated as part of the same system.
For digital and social, we created content that reflected the brand’s philosophy rather than pushing products aggressively. Instagram posts focused on space, material quality, and everyday moments, supported by a grid that feels cohesive and breathable. Store signage and in-store mockups were designed to translate the same sense of calm into physical environments.
