I started with a fictional music project blending dreamy and psychedelic tones. I focused on translating the sound’s emotional texture into visuals, using pastel tones, lunar collage work, and grainy overlays. The goal was to create a visual identity that evokes nostalgia, softness, and subtle strangeness.
Problem solved
The challenge was to build a coherent visual system for an imaginary band, as if it were real. It required bridging the gap between concept and believability — making the audience feel like the music exists. This helped me explore art direction, analog textures, and editorial consistency.
My role
I handled everything: concept creation, art direction, graphic design, and motion. This project allowed me to experiment with new aesthetics while refining my skills in layout, typographic hierarchy, and visual storytelling.
Result
A cohesive visual identity for an album, including a vinyl sleeve, center label, and animated content. It resonates with fans of dreamwave and visual nostalgia, while helping me expand my portfolio with a highly art-directed case study.
