I partnered with PayLynxs to overhaul the case management module in SimpliRisk, their flagship compliance and fraud automation platform.

The Challenge

Fraud teams at credit unions are responsible for detecting and tracking fraudulent activity across the entire institution. Many teams are lean, wearing many hats and working collaboratively. SimpliRisk's previous case management module wasn't scalable and didn't support those collaborative efforts. In other words, it didn't support real user needs and made it hard to market the product.

The Solution

The solution was to 1) design a centralized case management dashboard with filterable, sortable, and exportable data tables, 2) redesign the cases to easily track key data and assign tasks to individuals, and 3) design a new analytics dashboard to aide in reporting and provide oversight on fraud team's performance.

Impact

There was tangible business and user impact. SimpliRisk became much more competitive in the market, contributing to a 15% increase in annual revenue. An Oregon credit union reported a 134% increase in fraud detected, and 136% increase in cases opened.

Case Management Dashboard

The case management dashboard provides oversight for cases and tasks across the entire institution. From the Cases tab, users can manipulate a table of case data as needed.
The Tasks tab is a centralized place to manage tasks for all users and all cases. It is meaningful functionality that directly addresses the need to collaboratively work cases.

The Case Itself

Cases house all data related to tracking fraudulent activity. Data is logically split into tabs and ordered based on priority. Tasks for this case can be managed from the sidebar, and changes to tasks reflect on the case management dashboard previously outlined.

Analytics

I conducted workshops with existing users to identify which case data should appear on the analytics dashboard. Each graph type is tailored to its unique data. Fraud teams can track their performance in real-time and easily present reports to upper management.
