Project Overview

Cee Lanes is a wellness brand focused on ritual-based skincare, calming teas, and lifestyle products that support better skin, mind, and mood. The goal was to create a serene, elevated ecommerce experience that helped customers explore products through intentional self-care rituals instead of a standard shopping layout.
I designed the logo, shaped the visual identity, developed the brand direction, and built the full Shopify website using custom Shopify and Liquid solutions. With only the initial business concept to work from, I helped establish the brand’s overall look, feel, voice, and digital shopping experience from the ground up.

The Challenge

Cee Lanes needed more than a basic ecommerce site.
The brand was entering the wellness space, where trust, clarity, and emotional connection are especially important. The website needed to feel calming and luxurious while still being easy to shop. It also needed to introduce the brand’s ritual-based concept in a way that felt natural, not confusing.
The project needed to:
Create a cohesive brand identity from the ground up
Design a logo that felt elegant, soft, and memorable
Build a calming Shopify storefront for skincare, teas, and lifestyle goods
Guide users through product discovery by wellness ritual
Balance luxury with warmth and approachability
Create SEO-friendly content that supports buyer confidence
Use custom Shopify and Liquid solutions to support a more branded experience
Ensure the website felt clean, responsive, and easy to navigate

The Solution: A Ritual-Based Wellness Shopping Experience

The final website was designed around a central idea:
Shop by ritual.
Rather than presenting products as a simple catalog, the homepage and navigation guide customers toward intentional routines. This approach helps the brand feel more personal and emotionally connected while making product discovery easier.
The site introduces Cee Lanes as a wellness shop for better skin, mind, and mood, then invites users into curated sections for skincare, teas, lifestyle products, and ritual-based collections.
The result is a Shopify experience that feels less like a generic product store and more like a calm wellness destination.

Brand Identity Direction

The Cee Lanes identity was designed to feel refined, minimal, and peaceful.
The logo uses an elegant monogram-style mark paired with clean wordmark typography to create a sense of timelessness and softness. The overall brand direction leans into calm neutrals, muted green tones, soft photography, airy spacing, and editorial-style typography.
The brand needed to communicate:
Wellness without feeling clinical Luxury without feeling cold Skincare and tea without feeling disconnected Calm energy without becoming boring A boutique feel while still being easy to shop
The final direction created a visual foundation that could stretch across the homepage, FAQ page, product collections, navigation, and future brand assets.

Design Direction

The website design was intentionally serene, spacious, and lifestyle-driven.
The visual system uses soft sage tones, off-white backgrounds, muted navy-gray text, large editorial headings, and calming wellness imagery. The homepage hero uses a multi-image layout with skincare, tea, and ritual visuals to immediately establish the brand world.
The main design goals were:
Create a calm first impression
Make the brand feel polished and trustworthy
Use imagery to communicate ritual and lifestyle
Guide customers through the shopping journey clearly
Keep navigation simple and intuitive
Make the site feel elevated without overwhelming the user
Support both product discovery and customer education

Key Features

1. Custom Logo Design

I designed the Cee Lanes logo to feel elegant, soft, and timeless.
The monogram mark gives the brand a boutique identity, while the wordmark keeps the overall look clean and readable. This helped establish a visual identity that could work across the website, packaging, social graphics, and future brand materials.
The logo became the anchor for the rest of the design system.

2. “Shop by Ritual” Homepage Experience

One of the most important design choices was structuring the homepage around ritual-based shopping.
Instead of asking users to browse only by product category, the homepage invites them to build a wellness routine based on how they want to feel or what they want to support.
This helps customers connect emotionally with the products and makes the shopping experience feel more intentional.
The homepage messaging reinforces the brand’s promise:
Your lane to better skin, mind, & mood.

3. Calming Visual System

The site uses a soft, wellness-focused design system that supports the brand’s mission.
Key visual choices include:
Muted sage green accents Clean white and off-white spacing Elegant serif headings Soft lifestyle photography Minimal navigation Balanced typography Calm, editorial-style page sections
This creates a shopping experience that feels peaceful, refined, and aligned with the ritual-based wellness concept.

4. Shopify Store Development

The website was built in Shopify to give the client an ecommerce foundation that could support product sales, collections, inventory, customer accounts, cart functionality, and future growth.
The development process included building out the full storefront structure, creating key pages, organizing product pathways, and making sure the site could function as a real online store.

5. Custom Liquid Solutions

To create a more branded experience than a standard theme alone would allow, I used custom Shopify Liquid solutions throughout the build.
These customizations helped support the site’s layout, content structure, and branded sections while keeping the store manageable for the client after handoff.

6. SEO-Friendly FAQs

The FAQ page was built to support both customer education and organic search visibility.
The FAQ structure helps answer common buyer questions around product use, support, ordering, and wellness routines. This gives customers more confidence before purchasing while also adding helpful indexable content to the site.
The page design keeps the FAQ experience clean and easy to scan, with organized question sections and expandable-style formatting.

7. Product Storytelling

Cee Lanes needed product descriptions and collection messaging that felt aligned with the brand’s emotional tone.
The product storytelling was designed to emphasize simplicity, balance, everyday luxury, and intentional self-care. This helped create consistency across skincare, teas, and lifestyle products, even though the categories are different.
Rather than making the site feel like separate product groups, the copy and layout bring everything together under one wellness ritual concept.

8. Responsive Shopping Experience

The site was designed and developed with responsiveness in mind so customers could browse smoothly across desktop, tablet, and mobile.
Because ecommerce traffic often comes from mobile users, the design needed to keep product discovery, navigation, and contact options simple on smaller screens.
The responsive build supports:
