Storylane — AI Demo Experience & SaaS Dashboard Design

Storylane helps teams show buyers how a product works through interactive demos. I improved the demo experience around Lily, an AI agent that can answer questions, guide someone through the product, and connect them with a teammate.

My design work covered the SaaS dashboard and the connected AI chat, video-chat, and email-capture screens. The focus was a more useful product conversation: give people room to explore while making help and next steps easy to find.

A demo needs to do more than play through a fixed sequence. Different buyers arrive with different questions, and they need to connect an answer with what they can see in the product.

The design challenge was to bring the demo and the conversation together without letting the assistant take over the screen. For the team creating demos, the dashboard also needed to explain how to get started and make existing work easy to reach.

I placed Lily beside the product preview so a buyer can ask questions while keeping the demo in view. Suggested prompts offer a starting point, and the conversation can lead into an interactive walkthrough. The interface also presents an option to talk to a human, giving the person a visible next step beyond the AI conversation.

I carried the same visual language into the video-chat and email-capture states. Consistent spacing, card styles, and action colors connect the screens as parts of one journey.

On the dashboard, I organized the first steps into a clear sequence: install the browser extension, record a demo, share it, and connect the tool stack. Recent demos support returning users, while example cards explain different ways to use the platform.

The final design connects demo creation, product exploration, and assistance in a cohesive web experience. Lily becomes part of the demo journey rather than a separate destination. The screens show the dashboard and the AI, video, and email interactions I designed to support that experience.
