Shapeshifter → CoCareer

Shapeshifter helps people understand which careers fit them and how to prepare for the next step. At APM Labs, I designed the experience from early research through UX/UI and interactive prototypes.

I continued working on the product as it evolved into CoCareer, a B2B platform for career coaches supporting multiple clients.

A list of relevant jobs still left people with difficult questions: why does this role suit me, where does my experience fall short, and what should I do about it?

Testing with more than 50 users over four weeks exposed the gaps. Some people thought the final onboarding screen was the entire app. Others reached the homepage without knowing where to begin, or saved learning resources they never used. The product needed a clearer path from career insight to action.

I revised the onboarding language, step indicators, and continuation cues, then added a homepage overview with clearer routes into the scorecard. Role information, strengths and gaps, preparation tools, and learning resources became connected parts of the same journey.

I also introduced AI-generated practice assignments tailored to a person’s experience and learning needs, giving them a specific task to work on.

As the product moved into coaching, I designed the client management dashboard to bring goals, roadmaps, activity, and progress into one view. The experience expanded from helping one person find their next step to helping a coach understand and support several clients.
