How a Basic Website Turned Into a High-Conversion Machine After a Redesign

THE CLIENT

Ascend Labs is a fast-growing supplement brand focused on visible, appearance-driven results , helping young consumers feel more confident through science-backed formulas.
Their hero products include:
D-BLOAT – debloating support for a leaner facial appearance
B-CLEAR – skin clarity and acne support
U-GLOW – improved skin tone and tanning support (upcoming)
The brand primarily serves a Gen Z audience (ages 16–24) in the U.S., with users motivated by one core desire:
“I want to look better and feel more confident.”

THE CHALLENGE

Redesigning Ascend Labs wasn’t about making the site “prettier.” It required solving structural, cognitive, and trust-related problems.
The real challenges lie beneath the surface , unclear structure, scattered messaging, and a user journey that needed to be rebuilt from the ground up including key CRO enhancement.

1. Product Understanding Took Too Long

Users were presented with ingredients and long explanations, but no clear transformation story.
Many left before grasping:

2. Trust Signals Were Present , But Invisible

Ascend Labs had powerful credibility assets:
Trademarked ingredients (DIGESEB®, CHROMAX®)
Certificates of Analysis
3rd-party testing
Made in USA / HALAL claims
But these signals weren’t surfaced visually or strategically, especially on mobile.

3. Mobile UX Was Not Built for Speed

Most users browsed on mobile, yet:
Important info appeared too late
CTAs required excessive scrolling
Pages felt dense and fatiguing
For a Gen Z audience, this friction was costly.

4. No Clear Product Differentiation

Each formula had a distinct purpose, yet the website failed to:
Compare them clearly
Guide users to the right solution

THE SOLUTION

UXphoria rebuilt Ascend Labs’ website from the ground up with a mobile-first, conversion-focused strategy.
The core principle was simple:
Make the value obvious in seconds , and make buying effortless.

THE PROCESS

Phase 1: User Research & Mobile Buying Behaviour

Redesigning Ascend Labs required a deep understanding of how Gen Z shoppers browse, scan, and decide on supplement products , especially on mobile, where speed and clarity are critical.
This phase focused on uncovering where users hesitated, what information they looked for first, and why many dropped off before understanding the product value.

Analysed mobile scroll depth and engagement patterns to identify early drop-off points.
Reviewed PDP reading behaviour to understand how users scan benefits vs. ingredients.
Mapped user objections related to appearance-driven supplements (results, safety, trust).

Phase 2: Strategic Direction & Homepage Flow Clarity

Ascend Labs’ homepage was rebuilt to guide users instead of overwhelming them. The goal was to clearly communicate what the brand stands for, how it’s different, and which formula fits each user , all within the first few scrolls.

Phase 3: Conversion-Optimised Product Pages (PDPs)

Each product page was redesigned as a structured conversion journey, guiding users from curiosity → understanding → confidence → action , without overwhelming them on mobile.

Rewrote benefit hierarchy in plain, outcome-driven language.

Phase 4: Visual Identity, UI Design & Scientific Storytelling

This phase focused on aligning Ascend Labs’ visual identity with its scientific, effective, and clean brand positioning , while keeping the experience lightweight and mobile-friendly.

Refined a white, minimal visual system with increased black contrast for authority.
Assigned distinct accent colors to each formula for clarity and recognition.
Designed scientific visuals to explain “why it works” without heavy text.
