From a Simple Exercise to a Full Brand Spec: "What if..."
VISION largely started as a way for me to make a short animated spec loop on an energy drink can. But halfway through setting up an established brand logo, a question hit: "What if I created my own custom energy drink brand instead?"
The end product spanned a full brand identity, custom logo and packaging designs, and a polished 8 second hero teaser.
The Challenge
In a market flooded with energy drinks built on raw hype and excessive caffeine, how do you build a brand focused on sustaining the push? The goal was to position VISION as the go-to drink when energy starts to fade, but the grind isn't finished.
Instead of traditional high-dose caffeine, the concept relies on a blend of paraxanthine and citicoline to deliver sharp mental clarity and alertness without the crash or insomnia. That focus-first philosophy became the backbone of the entire identity.
From Initial Concept...
I kicked things off by designing four distinct flavors tailored for a full day's workflow:
Orange Mimosa for the morning jumpstart
Phoenix Fire Cherry for the midday refresh
Watermelon Snow for the late-night breeze
Guilded for when you just can't decide
Designed in Illustrator, the minimalist cans act as bold accents for a busy workstation while representing how each flavor spans across the palate. Once the 2D vector layouts were locked, it was time to move into 3D.
To The Final Model
The 355ml sleek can is personally my favorite form factor. It’s comfortable to hold, offers the ideal volume, and finishes before it goes lukewarm. Naturally, it was the only choice for the hero 3D model.
The entire model was created and UV unwrapped inside Autodesk Maya before being brought into Substance Painter to bake materials, fine-tune metallic reflections, and layer the graphic wraps.
The Hero Teaser
The 8-second commercial acts as a rapid-fire trailer, hitting viewers with each flavor, key brand messaging, and macro product detail in under ten seconds. Bold kinetic typography, minimalist camera pacing, and procedural condensation simulations work together to deliver maximum visual impact in a tight timeline.
The Result
VISION isn't necessarily your every day caffeine, it's your emergency glass. When the world starts to swim and you feel yourself shutting down, we're here to help you 'See the VISION' and keep pushing until you can finally relax. The result of this project was a brand catered towards helping the artists, the entrepreneurs, and the grinders to go one more hour as they bust their a**.

VISION is an energy drink SPEC that started out as just a way for me to create the can model and short animation between jobs, turned into a full brand concept.
