I was hired as an intern while attending graduate school to assist One Trick Pony’s copywriting team with headlines and body copy for various product-centric brands. Before graduating with a MA, I was hired full time to lead the agency’s social engagement and copywriting strategy for Virgin Mobile USA.
In the end, our goal was to sell more phones. Virgin Mobile is known for having fun and unique marketing campaigns to reach that goal. Establishing a content voice online that matched this company personality was imperative. I created content for Virgin Mobile USA’s Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, and Pinterest, and branded BuzzFeed profile to align with new product launches. I wrote copy for various collateral leading up to, and live event coverage during their major tentpole events: Lady Gaga’s Born This Way Ball sponsored tour, Virgin Mobile Freefest, and the Virgin Mobile House at SXSW.
This role required strong relationships with both the Virgin Mobile USA team externally, as well as account managers, designers, and web developers internally.
