DeVinci Fablab: Brand Identity Redesign

The DeVinci Fablab is a hands-on experimentation and training space that helps students turn ideas into real projects, hosting over 100 active members, 1,000 3D prints a year, and 5,000 students through its doors annually.

The problem

The existing visual identity had been built by people with no brand design background. It felt visually outdated, inconsistent, and didn't reflect the innovative, forward-thinking community the Fablab had grown into. The shapes, colors, and overall feel were holding the brand back.

The redesign

I volunteered to redesign the brand identity from the ground up, while preserving the essence of the original logo. The new system is modern and tech-forward, but the real design constraint was usability: it had to be easy enough for non-designers on the team to apply consistently, without needing a designer in the loop. Every element was built with that in mind.

The result

The Fablab now has a visual identity that matches the energy of what actually happens inside it. The team can produce on-brand materials independently, and the brand reads as modern and credible to the students and partners who interact with it.
