Customer Churn Analysis

Vivian Makmur

I tackled a critical issue faced by a credit card company, the departure of customers, which directly impacts revenue. By diving into the dataset, I uncovered key insights that shed light on why customers were leaving the service, ultimately aiming to drive positive changes for the company.
The analysis uncovered a significant revelation, despite the predominant middle-aged, married, and educated demographic, a substantial portion, notably those in the low-income category, exhibited a surprisingly high churn rate. This revelation redirected focus towards an overlooked demographic segment, prompting the necessity for tailored retention strategies to address their unique challenges. Understanding these challenges enables the company to potentially reduce churn rates, safeguarding revenue.
Throughout the project, meticulous examination encompassed demographic information alongside a comprehensive array of banking metrics, including transactional behaviors like amount, count, and utilization ratio. Employing diverse statistical techniques, correlations were discerned, offering a comprehensive grasp of customer churn dynamics. This encompassed not only demographic segmentation but also transactional insights, facilitating the identification of specific high-churn customer groups. A systematic methodology ensured thoroughness in uncovering valuable insights, emphasizing the necessity of integrating diverse datasets to holistically tackle complex business challenges.
Navigating through the intricacies of banking and finance data presented a significant challenge for me, given my background primarily in sales, particularly in e-commerce and retail. However, I embraced this challenge as an opportunity for growth. Through persistence and a willingness to learn, I overcame the hurdles by delving deeper into relevant financial concepts and seeking guidance from industry experts. This project not only enhanced my analytical skills but also underscored the importance of adaptability and continuous learning in tackling diverse datasets and industries. Moving forward, I remain committed to expanding my knowledge and skill set with each project I undertake, ensuring that I am always prepared to tackle new challenges head-on.
If you have any feedback or suggestions, I'm eager to connect and further discuss ways to enhance this project and my skills as an analyst. Thank you for considering my work.
