Art Noire Is A Black Owned Art Organization That Is Breaking Barriers In The Midwest.

For the launch of their third annual gallery presentation, they wanted to come fully branded and align aesthetically with their growth. ▪️Client Needed:
Their first website
A brand kit
Branded social assets
A social strategy to promote their latest event

♟️Strategy Goals:

Boost brand awareness/rebrand
KPI’s that are currently being tracked: website traffic, social media engagement, brand mentions.
2. Drive awareness around upcoming event
KPI’s that are currently being tracked: ticket sales, click-through rate, brand mentions, customer acquisition cost.
3. Increase community engagement
KPI’s that are currently being tracked: social media engagement (shares, mentions, event RSVP’s, link clicks), website analytics ( time spent on site / conversion rate / visitors)
After our initial discovery call, it was determined that they wanted a bold palette that spoke to the core of their mission; the arts, the culture, and the community.
Formally, this client didn’t have a definitive color palette. I wanted to keep that same simplicity for the social media branding but incorporated bold and rich accent colors to illustrate the depth and vividness of Black culture.
For the full brand kit, I incorporated elements of past event photos, the new brand palette, and a specific font intentionally meant for social media and web assets.

The color palette was already vivid and because most of the content shared was going to be various artworks and event updates, I wanted to keep the social media marketing font simplistic. I chose three variations of the same font ( reg, bold, ultra bold) to maintain consistency and provide a slight differentiation. The logo font was already decided upon, prior to me taking on their branding.

💻 Now, For The Website…

Customer had no design preference. Only mentioned needs were “ a simple landing page that provides event info, the organization detail, and a link to direct customers to tickets". Due to time constraints and a priority to push the event, client gave me full creative control over the website. ( to be this trusted 🥲❤️)
However, this event was not intended to be simple. The mission behind this art organization was to provide a platform and create a safe space for Black artists to thrive and for the community to learn and engage. Simple just wasn’t going to cut it.
In under five days, I created the Art Noire Website.

And yes, the client was very happy.

Social Media🤳🏽

When I came into this project for Art Noire, I only had about a month 1/2 until the event. With time not on my side, it was a matter of moving quick and strategically. Beforehand, this organization primarily relied on personal socials to promote their event; and they did so with great success! However, this year was different.
The founder was scaling this art organization higher; inviting more guests, hosting panels, media, having major performances, and extending the event to two days.
While a personal strategy was built for both Instagram and Facebook, the main focus was creating a community and driving the core messaging. By collaborating with other artists and sharing their work, highlighting Black history, expressing the culture, providing inspirational messaging, shouting out important people that made this event happen, all while promoting the event… these are the metrics from the last 30 days.

📱 A Glimpse Of the Social Media Feed

For Instagram, I wanted that aesthetic vibe to really pop without being too organized. Art is messy and unpredictable most times, it can be chaotic and rich…and I think aligning the nature of an artist while staying on brand was key. My content buckets consisted of using Black History, inspirational/important messaging ( aka shareable content), event updates, and the community to drive the strategy home.

💵 ADS THAT MADE $ALES

In addition to social media, I created ADs for Facebook. The client wanted assistance in promoting the event and target newer demographics from nearby cities.

In Addition, the Facebook page had great numbers considering it only had one real month of metrics.

Due to limited time and no following on Facebook. I used the similar and some of the same imagery but retargeted the messaging to affect a different demographic.
However, this organization is a local entity, so most in the town have either already been to their events or know of the founder.
