Darkroom Photo: Framer Portfolio Template for Night Photography

Darkroom Photo, Framer Portfolio Template for Night Photography

Client: Darkroom Photo (own template) | Role: Design and development | Timeline: 2026

Darkroom Photo is a free portfolio template for night and film photographers. The demo belongs to Ines Moreau, a night photographer based in Marseille who shoots 35mm film with direct flash. The work is dark, so the site is a dark stage that stays out of its way.

I designed and built it, from the wordmark and type to the live template in Framer. The live demo shows every page.

A wall of frames. The home page is a dark wall of frames grouped into nine series. Click one and that series steps forward on its own while the rest of the wall goes dark.

Viewfinder overlay. Every page sits inside a camera viewfinder, with corner brackets, a REC timecode, an exposure scale and a focus readout.

One type family, three colours. Everything is set in IBM Plex Mono, the way a camera prints its readouts. Black is the night, white is the frames, and one signal red marks the REC light and the page you are on.

About, contact and booking. An about page tells the photographer's story, and a contact page ends the site with a booking form. The layout is responsive for desktop, tablet and phone, and the photos are managed in the CMS.
