Summa Website, Design and Build in English and Arabic

Challenge & Scope

Summa is the personal and small-business finance app for the Gulf. It connects to UAE bank accounts and handles budgets, cash-flow forecasts, savings goals and bill reminders. People in the Gulf read in English and in Arabic, so the site had to explain a financial product clearly in both languages, and in both reading directions, before anyone signs up for the waitlist.
The scope was the whole marketing website: the story of the product, how it works, what it costs, why it is safe, and a way to join the waitlist. Visitors who have never heard of Summa should understand what it does within the first screen.

Approach & Implementation

I designed and built the website in English and Arabic, with a full right-to-left layout. The Arabic pages keep their own direction and type rather than mirroring the English ones.
The site includes a dashboard preview, a comparison with spreadsheets and bank apps, a security section, pricing, a waitlist and an FAQ. There is also a "try it with your own numbers" calculator that visitors can play with in the browser, using their own numbers, before signing up.
The design is built around a lime green on deep forest greens and cream, with a serif display face for headlines and a clean sans for the interface. Phone and dashboard scenes show the product the way people will use it: budgets, cash flow, savings goals and bills in one view.
