Client: Fieldwork (concept studio) · Role: Web designer · Timeline: November 2026 · Deliverables: 4-step quote tool, live price, timeline chart, brief form, phone layout
Challenge & Scope
Most studio sites end with a "contact us" form. A buyer still has to email and wait to get the two things they care about most: how much and how long ⏱️
Fieldwork is a concept web studio. The brief was a quote tool that answers both of those questions before the first email is sent, and then sends the studio a brief with those answers attached. The studio name, prices and copy were all made for this concept.
Approach & Implementation
Scope first. Step one asks what kind of site it is (a new marketing site, a rebuild or a launch page), the platform, the number of pages and add-ons such as copywriting or a brand refresh.
A price that moves. Step two shows the total and every line behind it. A rush option adds 25% and cuts the schedule by 30%, and a switch shows the price in USD, EUR or GBP.
The timeline as a chart. Step three draws discovery, design, build and QA as a simple Gantt chart and ends on a go-live date.
Send with the summary. Step four is a short form for name, work email and company. The quote goes with it, and payment is shown as three invoices: on signing, at design sign-off and at launch.
The summary stays in view. On desktop it sticks to the side of the screen. On phone it becomes a bar at the bottom.
