Project Overview:

At Deveryware, a leader in investigation technologies, I served as Product Owner for Deveryloc—a geolocation platform used by law enforcement and security professionals to track GPS and GSM beacons in real-time. I led a major technical migration from legacy GWT technology to modern Angular framework, coordinating development efforts across two countries while maintaining platform stability and introducing new capabilities.

Role & Responsibilities:

Product Strategy & Roadmap
Owned the product roadmap and backlog, prioritizing features based on user needs, technical constraints, and business objectives
Defined and tracked KPIs to measure product success and inform decision-making
Participated in steering committees, presenting progress and aligning stakeholders on strategic direction
Agile Product Management
Wrote detailed user stories and specifications for the development team
Facilitated Agile ceremonies (sprint planning, daily standups, reviews, retrospectives)
Managed backlog grooming and prioritization to ensure continuous delivery
Cross-Functional Leadership
Led a distributed team of 7 developers across Vietnam and France, navigating time zones and cultural differences
Organized UX design workshops to align on user experience and interface decisions
Collaborated with technical leads on architecture decisions during the GWT-to-Angular migration
Budget & Resource Management
Evaluated development costs and managed project budgets
Optimized resource allocation between feature development and technical migration work

Key Achievements:

On-Time Platform Deployment Successfully delivered the new Angular-based platform on schedule despite the complexity of a full technical stack migration.
Distributed Team Performance Enhanced team motivation and collaboration across France and Vietnam through clear product vision, transparent communication, and inclusive Agile practices.
Process Optimization Improved project management efficiency by implementing structured workflows and best practices on JIRA, increasing team velocity and reducing blockers.

Challenges:

Technical Migration Without Service Disruption Migrating from GWT to Angular while maintaining a critical real-time geolocation service required careful planning, phased rollouts, and maintaining parallel systems during transition.
Distributed Team Coordination Managing a team split between France and Vietnam presented coordination challenges across time zones, languages, and work cultures. Required establishing clear communication protocols and asynchronous collaboration practices.
Balancing Migration and Feature Development Prioritizing between technical debt reduction (migration work) and new feature delivery to meet user and business needs demanded strategic backlog management and stakeholder alignment.
