Pinfield: product film
Designed by Saf
What is Pinfield?
A free browser extension that turns Pinterest into one endless field of pins. Drag in any direction, or zoom out to see around a hundred at once.
The launch film, made from the real extension.
What problem does it solve?
Pinterest is a column you scroll down. When I build a moodboard, I want many pins side by side and room to move around them, like a wall.
What is it built on?
Only what Pinterest already gives you: your feed, search, related pins and boards. Nothing extra to download, no new account.
1. Drag anywhere
Your feed opens as a field. Drag, scroll or flick any way and new pins keep arriving. No titles, only pictures.
A home feed as a field.
2. Open a pin, stay in the grid
A pin opens large in the middle of the grid, with Pinterest's related pins packed around it. Its buttons sit beside it, not on top.
An open pin, with its buttons beside it.
3. Search like on Pinterest
A normal search box with Pinterest's own suggestions. I tried a row of picture refinements first, then went back to what people already know.
Pinterest's suggestions, as you type.
4. Zoom all the way out
See the whole mood at once and spot a direction before you save anything.
Zoomed all the way out.
5. Explore, the way Pinterest means it
Explore shows Pinterest's own page: interests, popular topics and featured boards.
Explore, from Pinterest's own data.
Pinfield collects nothing and has no server of its own. Free and open source at github.com/sendsaf/pinfield.
