Website and dashboard design for farmland owners who lack digital resources and agriculture-focused investors who struggle to find verified lands & farmers.
FarmLease (MVP design) โ Bridging Farmland Owners and Agricultural Investors
๐ Project Overview
Project Name: FarmLease
Client: AgriLink Ventures
Project Duration: 1 week
Role: Lead Product Designer
Platform: Web and Mobile
Problem Statement
Small and mid-sized farmland owners often lack the resources to make their land productive. Meanwhile, agriculture-focused investors struggle to find verified, secure land opportunities. The current process is largely offline, opaque, and riddled with trust issues.
๐ฏ Objectives
Enable farmland owners to list land easily with details like size, location, and lease terms.
Allow investors to browse and lease land based on location, soil type, budget, and projected ROI.
Build trust with verified listings, digital agreements, and secure communication.
Support mobile-first accessibility for rural communities.
User Research
Target Users:
Landowners โ Typically aged 45+, rural-based, digitally semi-literate.
Investors โ Tech-savvy agripreneurs and urban professionals seeking passive agri-income.
Research Methods:
12 user interviews (6 landowners, 6 investors)
1-day field study in Owerri.
Competitive analysis of agri-marketplace platforms
Key Insights:
Landowners preferred voice onboarding and SMS notifications.
Investors valued legal clarity, GPS mapping, and ROI projections.
Trust is a barrier. Users needed verification, reviews, and visual proof (photos/videos).
๐งญ User Flow & Information Architecture
We mapped two core flows:
For Landowners:
Register โ Add Land Details โ Upload Media โ Set Lease Terms โ Submit for Review
For Investors:
Sign Up โ Browse Listings โ Apply Filters โ View Lease Info โ Request Lease โ Sign Agreement
I also designed a Dashboard for both users with metrics like:
Active Leases
Lease Income (for landowners)
Land Portfolio & Projected ROI (for investors)
