Once a buzzing hotspot in Colombo in the 1960s, Aleric’s Piccadilly Cafe was an island favourite for ice cream lovers. As part of the brand’s revival under the name Piccadilly Parlour, Alerics set out to reintroduce the beloved spot through a new flagship storefront for the vibrant tourist scene on the south coast. Through extensive research and archival digging, we drew inspiration from retro ice cream parlour signage and vintage aesthetics to create a visual identity that feels contemporary while still honouring the charm of the original cafe, where stepping inside feels like travelling back in time. Soft pastel tones were introduced to reinforce the nostalgic atmosphere, with a warm blue becoming a defining colour across the branding, exterior and interior concepts, to ensure a cohesive identity that brought the revived Piccadilly story to life.
