Process

Understanding the product
Understanding the target audience and common user journey
Heuristic evaluation
Accessibility evaluation (A, AA, AAA check)
Visual design evaluation
Creating a new site map, user flow and wireframes
Redesign the UI adhering to the visual style and copywriting style while taking into account the principles of UX and visual hierarchy
The client: Chromahair is a local, small, authentic hairdressing salon that offers a wide range of services for those who want to emphasize their uniqueness and exclusivity.
*This project was made as a proposal solution.

🎯 Goal

To improve the overall user experience of the web page by identifying and addressing usability issues;
to take into account accessibility constraints;
to improve the design and layout within the strict brand guidelines.

UX & UI Audit

I categorized and highlighted elements by categories:
🟢 Green - It is good, keeping it as is.
🟡 Yellow - Small changes required.
🔴 Red - Removing element or changing fully.

Site map

After analyzing the user's journey through the web page of the salon to get information about the salon and its services, I suggested rebuilding the site mapping by reducing the number of pages and the structure of each page, placing relevant information together.

🎨 Redesign

The new design incorporates all the suggestions above. As a result, I've achieved the following:
Matching the AA, and AAA contrast standards for all text and background on the website
Redesigned the Home page to make it more converting and clear
Enhanced the layout, typography hierarchy(font size, font heights, line height) and colour contrast across all pages to improve information hierarchy
Improved the service page list
Enhanced UX by reorganizing information placing relevant and similar one in one place
Added more neutral colours into the pallet to create a clear, easy feeling

📅 Timeline & Details

The whole process of Auditing & Redesigning this website took me 10 days.

Conclusion

As an addition to the whole process, I would suggest to a client a few more things to update or add across the website to build more credibility and get clients to know their masters and the work they do.
