Flexiple Job Portal: Redesigning the Onboarding Experience

As the product designer for this project, I transformed Flexiple's software development job portal onboarding experience through strategic gamification and UX improvements, resulting in significantly higher completion rates and better quality candidate data.

Flexiple connects software engineering talent with job opportunities. However, the platform faced two critical issues:

High Drop-off Rate: 35% of users abandoned the onboarding process before submitting their resumes

Incomplete Profiles: Low profile completion rates and inconsistent data formats limited matching effectiveness

Conducted user research to identify specific drop-off points

Analyzed user behavior to understand profile completion barriers

Evaluated existing data structure to identify standardization opportunities

Relevance Issues: Recommended jobs during onboarding weren't matching user's profile

Confusion Points: Users didn't realize they could skip applying to recommended jobs

Resume Preparedness: Many users weren't ready with updated resumes

Visual Motivation: Displayed "locked" premium jobs that would unlock with profile completion

Developer-Centric UI: Redesigned interface with a code editor aesthetic familiar to the target audience

Gamification Elements: Introduced profile levels with clear progression and rewards

Resume Parsing: Added one-click verification to auto-populated fields from uploaded resumes

Data Standardization: Implemented structured inputs to improve data quality and quantification

Tested prototypes with users to validate improvements
