Tenzio — A Premium Interface for Science-Based Strength Training

Overview

Tenzio is a science-based strength training mobile app with a solid backend, proven training logic, analytics and a coaching system.
The product already worked well, but its interface didn't reflect that quality. We redesigned the UI, replacing stacked cards with a premium, high-hierarchy interface built for daily motivation.
Our goal was to rebuild the visual language into a confident mobile app experience that feels as strong as the training logic behind it.

The Challenge

Tenzio was fully built and working, but the interface undercut it.
Screens read as a stack of dark, cyan-heavy cards with flat hierarchy and poor use of screen width. The Home screen felt like a workout launcher rather than the daily status and motivation hub a premium training app needs. The brief was clear: rebuild the visual language into a confident, high-hierarchy experience.

Our Approach

We started with research, competitor analysis and a UX audit of the existing app to see exactly where the interface was holding the product back.
The product itself didn't need to change. Our answer was purely visual: break the stacked-card structure into a clear typographic hierarchy, let layouts breathe across the full width, and pull cyan back from a default color into a targeted accent against a warmer, less flat dark base.
From there, we explored design concepts, moved into high-fidelity design and delivered a UI kit and a clickable prototype.

UX/UI Design Solution

Personalized Onboarding

A short, guided setup turns a blank app into a personalized training plan. It covers frequency, session length, experience level and even muscle-group priorities, with a clear choice between a fully AI-built program and building your own split. Every answer directly shapes the generated plan.

Guided Workout Flow

From prep to rest timer, every step stays in context. A lobby shows the day's exercises before you start, per-move setup cues remove guesswork at the machine, and live logging carries your last session's numbers, a built-in warm-up protocol and an RIR scale, with real-time coaching nudges when a set runs hot or a plateau appears in the data.

Muscle Focus & e1RM Widgets

The two headline stats on Home open full breakdowns. Muscle Focus expands into a custom front and back anatomical illustration with volume and status per muscle group and a direct call to action. e1RM / Strength opens a long-range trend chart with a written insight and a session-by-session log of every contributing lift.

Strength Progress at a Glance

One screen answers "am I getting stronger?" A hero chart highlights the lift with the biggest recent gain, filterable from 7 days to all-time, followed by a grid of every tracked exercise with its last result and change, so there's no digging through workout logs.

Deliverables:

Research & Competitor Analysis
UX Audit
Design Concepts
High-Fidelity Mobile App UI Redesign
Design System & UI Kit
Custom Anatomical Body Map
Clickable Prototype
Developer-Ready Figma Specs

Outcome

The redesign gave Tenzio the premium, high-hierarchy interface its founder envisioned. It was delivered entirely as developer-ready Figma specs that dropped straight into the existing tech stack with no friction on the engineering side.
A near-black canvas, a single glowing cyan gradient used sparingly and a custom-illustrated anatomical body map give the product a distinct, almost medical-grade visual signature that no stock icon set could deliver.
"Grona did a fantastic job helping me with my app redesign. He provided high quality work that all translated well to the tech framework I am working with. I'd highly recommend working with Ivan if you care about quality." — Alex, Tenzio
