OBJECTIVES

The objectives for this project were as follows:

- Assist him to efficiently and effectively run his projects

- Offer the best service to his clients without affecting quality of service and products

CONTEXT

Mr Chinyamakobvu is a busy man and he is good at what he does which is systems and products developer and designer. My job was to make sure his office was always on track. As his Virtual Administrative Assistant i also had to research on prospective and new clients so that when he works with them he'll be fully understanding their needs, structures, background and goals. In short, my job was to virtually make sure that his office was upto speed, efficient and operating at its best without any challenges.

PROBLEM

At that point, he had numerous projects and clients he was working with. It was putting pressure on him and it was difficult to perform other administrative tasks as well as keeping track of project deadlines and meetings.

ROUTE TO SOLUTION

This is how we got to solve his problem;

1. Understood his problem.

2. Gathered what he wasn't able to perform on his own.

3. Curated a proper solution for him based on what he needed much help on.

4. Started working together

We then agreed that i was supposed to work 6 hours a day unless when he had meetings and there was a lot of research work that needed to be handled. I had to do basic project management, research, email management, calendar management, and basic database management.

LESSONS LEARNT

- Some tasks are not as easy as they seem and would always require some form of intiative

- Its not just communication that matters but effective communication

Communicating clearly and effectively so as to leave no room for doubt and assumptions.
