SHARCOAL: Premium Hardwood Charcoal Rebrand (Case Study)

Overview

Client: SHARCOAL
Project: Website redesign and branding for a premium hardwood charcoal supplier.
Target Users: Restaurants, households, and industrial buyers who prioritize quality, consistency, and sustainability.
Goal: Use a high-impact, professional design to position the product as a top-tier, trusted option globally, moving away from generic branding.

Design & Strategy

The core strategy here was to use strong visuals to convey heat, quality, and luxury making charcoal look like a high-end ingredient, not just a commodity.
Impactful Visuals: The entire background is dominated by a high-resolution, burning charcoal image. This visual is immediately engaging, grabs attention, and directly communicates the product and its intense use.
Premium Positioning: The headline, "Premium Hardwood Charcoal, Trusted Worldwide," avoids generic descriptions. It clearly establishes the product's quality tier and its global reputation in two simple phrases.
Key Messaging: The descriptive text focuses on user benefits and ethical sourcing:
Performance: "clean-burning, long-lasting charcoal."
Source: "100% natural African Rosewood (Iyin) and Acacia hardwood."
Target: Identifying the three main customer segments: restaurants, households, and industries.
Color Palette: A simple, high-contrast scheme:
Black/Dark Gray: Used heavily in the background to match the product and evoke intensity.
White: Used for headlines and body text to ensure maximum readability against the dark background.
Red: Used sparingly for the primary "Contact Us" calls-to-action. Red provides a sharp, urgent contrast, suggesting heat and importance, guiding the user straight to the conversion point.

My Role

Copywriting refinement for the headline and core value proposition.
