MaouenePay — Fintech Platform Redesign, Congo

PROJECT OVERVIEW

About the Client
MaouenePay is a fintech platform built to reshape the financial experience in Congo — a market dominated by inaccessible international platforms, local transfers that take days, and mobile money apps with poor UX. Founded by Alex, a Cloud Architect originally from Congo, introduced through Yamify founder Luc Okalobe.
Goal
Redesign the entire platform to deliver fast, seamless, and personalised financial experiences for Congolese users — a market that international platforms had not designed for and local alternatives had not invested in.
Challenges
The existing design files reflected a product built feature by feature, without a coherent information architecture underneath. Navigation was a record of decisions made in isolation. Fixing the interface without fixing the structure would produce a product that looked better but still did not work. The full IA needed to be rebuilt before a single screen was redesigned.
Solution
Blueprint audited the existing design files, restructured the entire information architecture, and presented the revised IA to the full product team before any screen work began. Drawing on firsthand experience building fintech products in Nigeria, the team redesigned the full mobile application end to end in close collaboration with the development team throughout.
