MOCHI — The Flavor of Feelings
What if emotions had a flavor?
I explored this idea through MOCHI, a playful mental wellness brand designed to make emotional awareness feel less clinical and more approachable.
Instead of simply asking “How are you feeling?”, MOCHI gives emotions a visual language through flavor, color, character, and everyday moments.
🍓 Strawberry — Happy · Loved · Connected 🍊 Orange — Excited · Energetic · Playful 🌶️ Spicy — Overwhelmed · Restless · Angry 🍫 Cocoa — Tired · Drained · Slow 🧂 Salty — Bothered · Insecure · Irritated 🍄 Umami — Content · Grounded · Fulfilled
The visual identity is built around Mochi, a tiny expressive octopus that changes color, expression, and personality with each emotional flavor.
What I explored
— Brand Identity — Art Direction — Character & Mascot Design — Emotional Color System — Flavor-based Visual Language — Editorial Photography Direction — UI / Product Design — Illustration & Graphic Elements
The challenge was to create something that could talk about mental wellness without feeling clinical, overly serious, or childish.
The result is a colorful visual system that turns an abstract feeling into something familiar:
Feel it. Name it. Move through it.
